Dear All

An abandoned house in calle brasil #13 has been occupied by a squatter. This is an abandoned house and no matter what she may say, she is staying there illegally.

This house has been abandoned for 15-20 years as the owner died and cannot be located. Only the owner or owner’s estate can petition the court for eviction.

The lady who has just taken occupation is knocking on doors seeking help for washing, food, water, etc.

Please do not entertain this woman and I ask you to call the police if she keeps doing this, it is harassment.

Yesterday (Sunday 12^th) I called the police who arrived with the guardia civil and they are aware of the situation. The legal problem is that as she has entered she now has rights to stay and only the owner with the court can evict her.

Can all residents of calle brasil check their water hoses/taps and residents close to #13 check their meter cupboards regularly.

Can I ask all residents to be vigilant, not provide assistance and if you see anything suspicious call the police on 112.

Then of course your own street and then your house number

I believe there is a second property in the community that could suffer the same problem and therefore I will be calling an EGM shortly to discuss measures we can take and I ask the community to pull together as one.

The squatter problem in Calle Brasil has been resolved.

The woman has moved on and the door and gate have been bricked up to prevent further entry
